Today we are looking at the Bleecker and Row multi-purpose plant-based sponges. I Really wanted to take a look at these Because they are biodegradable and Compostable, so there’s no plastic Waste, which I’m really excited about. These are made with wood-based cellulose And coconut husk fiber. This is a 14 Pack. On the back, it suggests to wet The sponge before the use to soften it And rinse well each use. If you let it Out to dry, it will stay fresh, so you Don’t have to microwave it or put it in The dishwasher. And it says that these Fibers are super strong. to make sure That you check the scrubbing or the Abrasiveness in small areas to make sure That it doesn’t do any kind of damage For you. So, the pack opens with a Natural box and we have our sponges Here. And you can see that the sponges Are soft like regular sponges and on the Top it has the coconut core fiber uh That almost has like the thick abrasive Pad of most sponges. So, it’s a little Bit thick and then it’s got soft on the Other side. So, it’s about the size of a Normal sponge. It actually kind of has a little bit of A sweet smell to it. So, I wonder if That’s from the wood cellulose or from The coconut core, but it actually it Smells a little bit sweet, which is kind Of cool. Now, I went ahead and saved a
Dirty dish from dinner so that we can go Ahead and try it out. Now, my wife Always loves to buy new sponges because Very often sponges get smelly and stinky Really, really quickly. And so, these Say that they’re not going to get smelly And stinky really quick. But, let’s see If they can go ahead and clean, too. So, It says that we got to go ahead and wet It first so that it makes it more Pliable and easy to use. And you see you Hit it with hot water, it actually makes It more pliable. Makes it more pliable And it’s not so firm. All right, so we Got our soap on here and we’re going to Go ahead and hit this plate with it and See how it does and see if it actually Does a good cleaning on Here. All right, so it actually feels Like it’s doing the work of a regular Sponge and it really feels like it’s Cleaning well. Let’s go ahead and rinse It off and see how it did. All right. So, you see here that it Actually did a really good job with the Cleaning. It holds the soap really, Really well. And when I’m done with it, Now I can just go ahead and throw it in Our home composter and I don’t have to Worry about adding that waste to the Landfill. The Bleecker and Row Compostable, biodegradable sponge is Definitely going to work for our needs.
