Today, we’re going to be looking at the new George Foreman four-serving-size indoor grill. They say it’s now dishwasher-safe, heats up 35% faster, and is three times more durable. They added a new 1-inch adjustable hinge for thick burgers and sandwiches, allowing you to put thicker cuts of meat in there for more consistent cooking.
It’s wrapped well, with protection for the prong as well. It has a two-foot cord and comes with a drip tray, so you’ll want to make sure you drain this in between uses because the drip tray is pretty small. It slides underneath. There’s an instruction manual that comes in a couple of languages, but there are really only two pages you need to see: how to use the grill and the adjustable cooking times for specific items. There’s also a diagram page, “Getting to Know Your Grill,” that shows all the different parts, and you can see how to adjust the grill for extra size when closing it on bigger items.
Next, to clean the plates, you can pull the little clips on the side, pop out the plates, and wash them in the dishwasher or sink. The heating element runs around and heats the plate, so you’ll want to avoid getting food stuck in here. If it does get in, make sure to clean it after each use to avoid gumming up the heating element. You can remove the top plate the same way; it’s just a reverse of the other side, with the same heating element inside.
Once the preheat light comes on, you’re ready to start grilling. You know what that light means—it’s time to cook! Let’s make some burgers.
Halfway through cooking, be sure to turn your meat so you can get good grill marks. Flip your burgers to get those perfect marks and to let the fat run off. Oh yeah, those are the marks I like to see! Flip them over and continue cooking. The cleanup is easy—you just wipe it off, and you’re ready for the next round.
One thing I would change is having a bigger grease trap. If it were bigger, we wouldn’t have to clean it out every time we pull something off the grill. Right now, we’re having to empty it after each use. Other than that, it works well for my needs.
